An easy way to check on your baby is to be aware of your baby's movements. Here is low to do 'Kick counts' and monitor your baby's movement:
- Pick a time of day when your baby is active and try to do your kick counts about the same time each day.
- Time how long it takes your baby to move 10 times. You should feel 10 movements within 2 hours.
- If you do not feel 10 movements in 2 hours, or if you feel that your baby is moving less than usual, call your doctor.

Fetal Movement Record Instructions
Fetal movemets are one way your baby has to tell you and your doctor that all is well. You are asked to keep a record of fetal movement during your pregnancy. This chart is supplied to aid you in this task.
Instructions:
- Every evening after eating, lie down on your side.
- Mark down the time you feel your baby move for the first time.
- Mark down the time you feel the 10th movement of your baby.
Important:
You should feel 10 movements in two hours or less. If your baby does not kick or move 10 times in two hours this may be an indication that the baby is having a problem and needs further testing. The only way to be certain is to have your baby checked at the hospital.
