Kick Counts ✿

Estas são as indicações que eu tenho no que diz respeito aos 'Kick Counts': 

An easy way to check on your baby is to be aware of your baby's movements. Here is low to do 'Kick counts' and monitor your baby's movement: 

• Pick a time of day when your baby is active and try to do your kick counts about the same time each day.
• Time how long it takes your baby to move 10 times. You should feel 10 movements within 2 hours. 
• If you do not feel 10 movements in 2 hours, or if you feel that your baby is moving less than usual, call your doctor.

Agora vou deixar aqui o 'Fetal Movement Record Instructions' (a tabela foi feita por mim visto que a que tenho é em papel e foi só fazer uma igual, está muito simples mas acho que dará para perceber): 

Fetal Movement Record Instructions

Fetal movemets are one way your baby has to tell you and your doctor that all is well. You are asked to keep a record of fetal movement during your pregnancy. This chart is supplied to aid you in this task.

Instructions: 

1. Every evening after eating, lie down on your side.
2. Mark down the time you feel your baby move for the first time.
3. Mark down the time you feel the 10th movement of your baby. 

Important: 

You should feel 10 movements in two hours or less. If your baby does not kick or move 10 times in two hours this may be an indication that the baby is having a problem and needs further testing. The only way to be certain is to have your baby checked at the hospital.

Faltam 60 dias, passa ou não passa num instante?! Claro que sim! 

Se estou ansiosa?! Of Course... 

Apesar de algumas pessoas (nomeadamente grávidas) dizerem: 'Agora o tempo parece que não passa' - Discordo totalmente. Tal como já mencionei tem passado num instante, tem passado a voar tanto eu como o Papá temos tido essa noção, mas o que também é certo é que se ouve sempre pessoas a dizer 'Falta pouquinho'; 'Está quase' como também ouço 'Ahhh, para Fevereiro ainda falta'.   

Esta semana ainda não tirei fotografia, depois tenho que tirar e colocar aqui (vou ver se não me esqueço, como é óbvio).    

Anesthesia ✿

Anesthesia:

• Epidural anesthesia is regional anesthesia that blocks pain in a particular region of the body. The goal of an epidural is to provide analgesia, or pain relief, rather than anesthesia which leads to total lack of feeling. Epidurals block the nerve impulses from the lower spinal segments. This results in decreased sensation in the lower half of the body. Epidural medications fall into a class of drugs called local anesthetics, such as bupivacaine, chloroprocaine, orlidocaine. They are often delivered in combination with opioids or narcotics such as fentanyl and sufentanil in order to decrease the required dose of local anesthetic. This produces pain relief with minimal effects. These medications may be used in combination with epinephrine, fentanyl, morphine, or clonidineto prolong the epidural’s effect or to stabilize the mother’s blood pressure.
• A Spinal Block is sometimes called a “spinal.” In this procedure, a narcotic or anesthetic such as fetanyl, bupivacaine or lidocaine is injected below the spinal column directly into the spinal fluid to provide pain relief for as long as 2 hours. It is easy to confuse a spinal block and spinal epidural because they are both injections into the spinal area. For a spinal block, narcotics or anesthetic is injected once with a needle. For a spinal epidural or combined spinal epidural, a catheter is placed in the epidural space to allow continuous anesthesia. Spinal blocks are not widely administered today because of the preference for epidurals. However, they can be used in a more complex birth situation or a cesarean delivery.
  

• Local anesthesia is injected into a specific area to provide pain relief. Local anesthesia is given through various medications and dosages in the form of epidurals, pudendal blocks, and spinal blocks. It is also given near the end of birth for an episiotomy, to relieve the discomfort of the perineum stretching and also after birth to repair tears and episiotomies. When used at the end of birth or after birth, medication such as procaine(Novocain), lidocaine (Dalcaine, Dilocaine, L-Caine, Nervocaine, Xylocaine), and tetracaine (Pontocaine), is injected into the skin, muscle, or cervix for the fast, temporary relief of pain in the perineal area. Though rare, local anesthesia may be injected into the perineum when the baby’s head position will not allow a pudendal block to be administered. This will ease the pain of the perineum stretching, but will not relieve the discomfort of contractions during labor.
• Being informed about General Anesthesia will help prevent mothers from being caught by surprise in the unlikely event that it might be necessary. General anesthesia causes a total loss of both sensation and consciousness. It is rarely used for childbirth because a mother’s conscious participation is regarded as highly important for a safe and efficient birth.

TDAP - Tetanus,Diphtheria & Pertussis:

É uma vacina segura e recomendada na gravidez. Eu e o Papá tivemos que a tomar, para protecção da nossa Princesa!

"TDAP: This vaccine is recommended for caregivers, close friends and relatives who spend time with your baby. It prevents pertussis (also called whooping cough). Pertussis is easily spread and very dangerous for a baby. If you're thinking about getting pregnant, ask your provider about getting the Tdap vaccine. It protects you from getting pertussis so you don't give it to your baby. " March of dimes

"After receiving a whooping cough vaccine, your body will create protective antibodies (proteins produced by the body to fight off diseases) and pass some of them to your baby before birth. These antibodies provide your baby some short-term protection against whooping cough in early life. These antibodies can also protect your baby from some of the more serious complications that come along with whooping cough. Your protective antibodies are at their highest about 2 weeks after getting the vaccine. So you should get the vaccine late in your pregnancy, preferably during your 27th through 36th week, to give your baby the most protection when he is born. The amount of whooping cough antibodies in your body decreases over time. When you get the vaccine during one pregnancy, your antibody levels will not stay high enough to provide enough protection for future pregnancies. It is important for you to get a whooping cough vaccine during each pregnancy so high levels of protective antibodies are transferred to each of your babies." Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

31 Weeks ❤

Comemoramos 31 semanas hoje, faltam 63 dias    

Sem dúvida que o tempo tem passado num instante (pelo menos essa é a sensação que eu e o Papá temos), faltam 9 semaninhas, 63 dias. Somos uns Papás muito mas muito babados, temos a Princesinha mais linda do Mundo    

30 semanas & 3 dias ❤

E hoje enquanto estavamos à espera da Enfermeira para levar a injecção aproveitamos para tirar umas fotinhas (muito simples e caseiras eheheh)  

Falando de Injecção, hoje foi outra Enfermeira (ela já veio cá 1x administrar-me quando a que me costuma dar não podia) mal entrou disse logo 'WOOW BIG, BIG, BIG'  , por acaso não me custou muito (enquanto a levava), mas agora que já passaram algumas horas, nossa... Mal consigo andar, e amanhã ainda vai ser pior o costume, para mais amanhã é dia de 'ChildBirth Classes'.

Consulta 4/12 ❀

Consulta/ecografias:

Em relação à ecografia endovaginal (controlo da cérvix) bem para nossa surpresa e dos Médicos o meu cólo uterino está óptimo, ficamos muito felizes quase 40mm, maravilha, as injecções de Makena e todos os cuidados ajudam imenso. Na ecografia (da bebé), lá estava ela de cabecinha para baixo cada vez mais linda e mais uma vez tímida, ela agora gosta de colocar-se de modo a que eu tenha que me colocar de lado (e vira para a esquerda e vira para a direita), 151bpm, e lá estava ela a pontapear-me constantemente, vamos lá ver se ela na próxima se mostra mais um pouquinho.  Recebemos os Parabéns por termos conseguido chegar as 30 semanas, o que é óptimo, ficamos muito felizes mesmo.  

(Tenho que tirar fotografia da ecografia, depois eu edito este post e coloco aqui)  Próxima consulta dia 18, estamos ansiosos por ver novamente a nossa Princesinha mais linda! 

Consulta 3/12 ❀

Consulta desta semana com o OB:

A nossa Princesinha continua de cabecinha para baixo (daí eu andar a sentir muita muita pressão em baixo nos últimos dias), a altura uterina está óptima. Falamos também das mãozinhas inchadas (é normal, só tenho que andar atenta se começar a inchar em mais sitios nomeadamente pés/cara e por aí), para já é só mesmo as mãos, os pés nem incham. As 35 semanitas vamos fazer o exame rectal (GBS), ficamos já a saber mesmo ainda faltando umas 5 semaninhas, para as 35. Em relação ao exame da urina que foi realizado na consulta anterior (que entretanto eles mandaram para análise) estava tudo bem! 

PS: Em cima mencionei 'o OB', sim apesar de eu ser acompanhada pela minha OB (a Obstetra que escolhemos e para quem vai todas as informações e afins) naquela clinica existem mais 3 Obstetras (Sim porque as consultas nós temos numa Clinica com 4 OB's que trabalham no Hospital que escolhemos e em outros do mesmo Grupo. O parto será realizado somente por um destes 4 não por outros OB's (incluindo a minha), por isso também vamos tendo consultas com os outros OB's, eles estudam ambos o meu caso. Próxima consulta dia 17/12. 

Consulta 22/11 ❀

Mais uma consulta e vou deixar mais um resumo:

Uma consulta com a OB, tensões boas (andam sempre a volta do mesmo 10/6), a urina foi para análise visto que ás 28 semanas eles fazem um despiste de uma bactéria. Falamos sobre os POCS POCS constantes que andava a sentir, na altura eu e o Papá pensamos em soluços, mas para termos 'certeza' decidimos perguntar e certinho e direitinho, soluços eheheheh. Falamos sobre uma vacina que eu e o Papá tivemos que levar TDAP (por acaso não custou nada levar, foi super rápida, posso dizer que nem senti quem me dera que as de Makena fossem assim ahahah), noutro post irei falar sobre essa vacina. A altura uterina estava óptima, os batimentos da bebé também. Aproveitamos para marcar as ChildBirth Classes (7/12), e por acaso a OB perguntou se já tinhamos escolhido o Pediatra para a Neném, não é propriamente uma escolha que se faça logo mesmo tendo uma lista dos Pediatras recomendados (irei também fazer um post sobre esse tema). E próxima consulta 3/12. 

Consulta 20/11 ❀

Vou deixar um breve resumo: 

Vimos a nossa Princesinha, liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinda, estava ela de cabecinha para baixo (cefálica), também pelos pontapés fortes que eu sentia em cima já andava a suspeitar na altura que talvez estivesse nessa posição, mesmo sentindo também em baixo. Vou deixar aqui o vídeo dela a abrir e a fechar os olhinhos, ficamos completamente derretidos, babados ❤ ❤ 

Aqui a nossa Princesa estava com 28 semanas e 1 dia ❤

Em relação ao controlo da cérvix estava óptima com 34mm, nada mau, hein? Apesar de que na anterior consulta estava a 37mm, mas é uma diferença minúscula. Em relação às análises (mais concretamente em relação às plaquetas) elas continuaram a descer (cerca de 80.000), de acordo com os Médicos não tem nenhum problema associado, logo, trata-se de Trombocitopenia Gestacional, só será realizado um tratamento quando elas chegarem as 20.000 nessa altura já se trata de Trombocitopenia Púrpura e aí o caso muda de figura. O importante é que está tudo óptimo com a nossa Princesa, e este problema não a afecta a ela, o que nos deixa muito mais descansados! Voltei a repetir as análises (epá, já tirei tanto mas tanto sangue nesta gravidez, nossa!!!). Próxima consulta dia 4 de Dezembro!
